Terms of Service

1. Acceptance. By using the SnapAPI service ("Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does. SnapAPI captures screenshots of publicly accessible websites via API. You provide a URL, we return an image.

3. Permitted use. You may use the Service for lawful purposes only. You agree NOT to:

Capture sites you do not have permission to access
Use screenshots to impersonate or defraud
Attempt to capture login pages, banking sites, or government portals
Circumvent rate limits or abuse the signup process
Resell API access without written permission

4. API keys. Each key is for a single user or application. Sharing keys is not permitted. We may revoke keys that violate these terms without notice.

5. Rate limits. Free tier: 100 screenshots/month. Paid tiers have higher limits. Exceeding your limit returns a 429 error until the next billing cycle.

6. Availability. The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee 100% uptime or that every URL will render correctly. Screenshots depend on the target site's behavior.

7. Liability. SnapAPI is not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service. Maximum liability is limited to fees paid in the current billing period.

8. Changes. We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

What we collect:

Email address — provided at signup, used to identify your account
IP address — logged at signup to prevent abuse (max 3 keys per IP)
Usage data — number of API calls per month, per key
URLs requested — temporarily processed to capture screenshots, not permanently stored

What we do NOT collect:

We do not verify your identity (no KYC)
We do not sell or share your data with third parties
We do not use tracking cookies or analytics scripts
We do not store the content of captured screenshots beyond the 30-minute cache

Data retention. API keys and email addresses are stored as long as your account is active. Cached screenshots are automatically deleted after 30 minutes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us.

Security. API keys are randomly generated 128-bit tokens. All data is stored on secured infrastructure. We recommend keeping your API key confidential.
